Here’s a Tip to Relieve the Anxiety
Your dentist has no idea what you know about dental procedures. Your dentist also doesn’t know what types of experiences you have had at the dentist. The fact is he doesn’t even know if you feel anxiety at all. The best way to handle this situation is to sit down and have a talk with your dentist. What can this do for you, you may ask. Here is what it can do for you.
If you sit down with your dentist to have a chat you can explain to the dentist that you are a little afraid of what happens in a dental office. You can let your dentist know of any bad experiences you may have had that cause you to feel this anxiety. Or you may just have anxiety about the procedure you are going to have. If you let your dentist know, your dentist can explain the procedure and come up with a plan that will remove the anxiety. It may be as simple as offering to mildly sedate you so your anxiety will be relieved when the procedure is performed. Remember, dentists are people too.
